Calligraphy workshops in the North East


If you would like to give the art of beautiful writing a go yourself, Creative Calligraphy founder Angela Reed teaches calligraphy throughout the north east of England.

Regular venues include Re-Create Today in Whitley Bay, North Tyneside, From Loft to Loved in Sedgefield, County Durham, Elvet & Bailey in Durham City and Newcastle Arts Centre in Newcastle-upon-Tyne.

Weekly classes are also held on Thursday and Friday mornings at Mortimer Community Centre in South Shields. If you would like to add your name to the waiting list for a place, please get in touch.

Angela is also happy to offer private workshops for individuals and groups, as well as community organisations and schools.

Traditional Calligraphy Workshop (FULL)

I’m delighted to be holding my first workshop at Recreate Today and look forward to introducing people to the art of beautiful writing. In this session, we will be looking at a traditional calligraphy script, using a broad-edged pen, with close guidance and demonstrations throughout. The cost of the session is £25 per person, with a non-refundable £10 deposit required upon booking. This can be done in store or via PayPal to info@creative-calligraphy.co.uk. Please include your name and the date of the workshop. All materials, including a starter kit to take home, and refreshments will be provided.
