Calligraphy workshops in the North East
If you would like to give the art of beautiful writing a go yourself, Creative Calligraphy founder Angela Reed teaches calligraphy throughout the north east of England.
Regular venues include Re-Create Today in Whitley Bay, North Tyneside, From Loft to Loved in Sedgefield, County Durham, Elvet & Bailey in Durham City and Newcastle Arts Centre in Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
Weekly classes are also held on Thursday and Friday mornings at Mortimer Community Centre in South Shields. If you would like to add your name to the waiting list for a place, please get in touch.
Angela is also happy to offer private workshops for individuals and groups, as well as community organisations and schools.

The Cultural Spring – Intermediate Course

£15Calligraphy is the art of beautiful writing and you will explore and learn new skills with Angela Reed of Creative Calligraphy. You will learn simple calligraphy styles and techniques, from simple strokes to getting to grips with pen angles and proportions. This course is designed for people who have attended previous workshops. There is a voluntary donation of £3 per session, which are held weekly from 6pm to 8pm each Wednesday (excluding May 30).
