Calligraphy workshops in the North East
If you would like to give the art of beautiful writing a go yourself, Creative Calligraphy founder Angela Reed teaches calligraphy throughout the north east of England.
Regular venues include Re-Create Today in Whitley Bay, North Tyneside, From Loft to Loved in Sedgefield, County Durham, and Newcastle Arts Centre in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne.
Weekly classes are also held at Mortimer Community Centre in South Shields. If you would like to add your name to the waiting list for a place, please get in touch.
Angela is also happy to offer private workshops for individuals and groups, as well as community organisations and schools.

Pointed Pen Calligraphy Workshop

£35Join us for an introduction into the art of writing with a pointed nib to create beautiful calligraphy. Calligrapher Angela Reed will guide you through a series of basic strokes before showing you how to put them together to form a Copperplate alphabet. It will also give you a grounding to explore more contemporary calligraphy styles. All materials will be provided, including worksheets and a calligraphy kit consisting of a dip pen, ink and selection of nibs and paper for you to take home. A £10 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your space, which can be done via PayPal to info@creative-calligraphy.co.uk. Please state your name and the name and date of the workshop. Deposits can also be made in person at the venue.
