This course is part of The Cultural Spring programme, funded by Arts Council England, to improve access to and increase participation in the arts in Sunderland and South Tyneside. The weekly sessions, from Wednesday, September 20, to Wednesday, November 15, from 6pm to 8pm, (excluding October 25), will help people get to grips with a simple calligraphy script, from learning the basic strokes to building the alphabet. Discover the art of beautiful writing in this introductory workshop with Angela Reed, from Creative Calligraphy. Angela will guide you through the principles of pointed pen calligraphy, using a dip pen and ink to create a traditional copperplate script - the basis for many modern calligraphy styles.
